Your Star Sign: A star sign is one of the 12 equal areas into which the zodiac is divided. It is also sometimes called a mansion, a planetary house, a sign of the zodiac, a sign or a house. Astrology is the science of divination using the positions of the planets, the sun, and the moon at any given point in time. Astrology is sometimes called star divination for this reason. The zodiac is a belt-shaped region in the heavens on either side of the ecliptic. The ecliptic is the orbit of the Earth around the Sun. It is divided into 12 constellations, or signs for astrological purposes. As a Great Circle projected out into space, it is more properly called the celestial elliptic. If you scan the sky at night, over a period of time, you will be able to see the Moon and the planets change their positions along the arc of the southern sky. They are moving through the signs along the ecliptic. A more obvious movement that we all are aware of is the Sun rising in the east in the morning, being directly overhead at midday and then setting in the west in the evening. We view all of this from our Earthly vantage point. Even though we and all of the other planets are really orbiting the Sun, we see their apparent motion as being around the Earth.
